Ensuring Safe Play & Recreation During Winter
We specialise in gritting services tailored for sports and leisure facilities. Our team ensures that surfaces remain safe and accessible even during harsh weather conditions.
Winter weather can create challenges for sports and leisure activities. Snow, ice, and frost often make grounds unsafe. We offer a winter service to address these issues. Our gritting services are crucial for maintaining safety.
Timely gritting of roads, pathways, and surfaces ensures that facilities remain open, allowing uninterrupted enjoyment of sports and recreation. We use a mix of salt and grit to prevent ice build-up, keeping the road surface safe for everyone.
Why Gritting Is Essential for Sports & Leisure Facilities
Gritting is vital for the safety of visitors and staff at sports and leisure facilities. It helps maintain a safe environment, preventing accidents caused by icy or snowy conditions. By continuously monitoring weather conditions, we provide timely services to keep facilities operational.
Poorly managed sites can lead to closures or injuries. That's why we ensure correct procedures are in place. Our gritting routes are strategically planned to cover all necessary areas efficiently.

Keeping Grounds & Pathways Ice-Free
To prevent accidents caused by slippery surfaces, Snow Clearing Aberdeen provides a comprehensive gritting service. We cover gritting routes that include walkways, car parks, and entry points to facilities. By applying salt and grit, we can effectively minimise ice formation.
Our services are not just for roads; we attend to all key areas where people walk or play. We use a strategic approach by referring to a map of each location, focusing on areas most prone to ice build-up.
Frequently Asked Questions About Sports and Leisure Gritting
To help our clients better understand our commercial gritting services, we have compiled a list of frequently asked questions. This section aims to provide clear and concise answers to common queries about our operations, service areas, and the benefits of keeping your facilities free of ice and snow.
We use non-corrosive, sports-friendly de-icing materials to ensure surfaces remain safe without causing damage. These materials effectively melt ice while minimising the risk to sports equipment and protecting the integrity of playing fields and tracks.
We prioritise gritting high-traffic areas and place warning signs to alert visitors of icy spots. Paths, entrances, and seating areas are closely monitored, and additional gritting is applied if necessary to keep surfaces safe for movement throughout the event.
Critical areas include entrances, footpaths, car parks, outdoor seating, and access routes to sports fields and courts. High-use locations like changing room entrances and spectator zones are also prioritised to ensure safe access for everyone.

our decision making process
At our company, we make careful decisions to ensure effective gritting and snow clearing. We closely monitor weather forecasts and road surface temperatures in your area. When temperatures drop below zero, we promptly spread grit and salt to keep roads safe.
Weather Predicting
Using an elaborate weather forecast, we monitor road surface temperatures closely in your area. If this falls below zero, then we will arrange to spread grit and salt.
All Basis Covered
Fitted on our gritters are PDAs and GPS trackers which provide us with a timestamp and date while on site.
Information concerning the site's access, weather and ground conditions are recorded upon arrival; if any area is not gritted (for instance, parked vehicles in the way), data is also recorded.

Constant Communication
In the afternoon, generally around 4PM, we send an email notifying you that gritting will be carried out that night. Snow clearing is usually done early in the morning before your indicated time and overnight.
Evidence Provided
Upon the completion of the job, a completed job card is instantly sent to your e-mail.
This information is crucial since it is evidence that the gritting timings and treatments were done if a trip, slip, or an accident takes place. A photo of the site will also be provided.
